Founder Guides
Practical playbooks for AI founders, CTOs and engineering teams preparing to build, secure and sell AI products into enterprise organizations.
The series focuses on enterprise readiness, procurement, trust and AI security — the operational surface every AI startup hits somewhere between their first product-market fit signal and their first enterprise deal.
Definition
Founder Guides are Privian's long-form playbooks for AI startups becoming enterprise-ready. Each guide covers one part of the journey — security review, questionnaire, procurement, trust, AI security — with concrete artefacts, checklists and examples drawn from real enterprise reviews.
Why this series exists
Enterprise buyers evaluate more than the product
Enterprise customers do not approve vendors on product functionality alone. They evaluate security posture, privacy controls, documentation, architecture and operational maturity — often across weeks and multiple gates. For AI vendors the surface is wider still: data path, model providers, retention, subprocessors and prompt-level protection all become part of the review.
The Founder Guides are designed to help AI startups prepare before those conversations begin — not to react once they arrive. Each guide is written as if advising another founder on a Friday afternoon, with the artefacts a reviewer will actually accept.
